# Nebula QR & Barcode: Create and Scan Codes, All On Your Device
Most QR generators on the web are a trap in slow motion: the code they hand you points at *their* redirect server, which means it stops working the day they shut down, and they see everyone who scans it. Nebula QR & Barcode does not work that way — the code encodes your data directly, and everything happens on your device.

Creating codes
- **QR codes** for links, text, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials and more.
- **Barcodes** in the common retail and inventory formats.
- **Styling** — adjust colours and appearance so the code fits a poster, a label or a business card.
- **Download** the finished code as an image and use it anywhere.
Scanning codes
- **Use your camera** to scan a code in front of you. The app asks for camera permission the first time; nothing is recorded.
- **Scan from a saved image** — a screenshot, a photo of a poster, a code someone sent you.
Scanned results are shown to you before anything happens, so you can read a link before deciding to open it. Treat an unexpected QR code the way you would treat an unexpected link in a message: check where it actually goes.
No server in the middle
Generation and scanning both run locally. Your data is not sent anywhere to be turned into a code, and the codes you scan are not logged.
